Environment

We are currently using Flexo and Parkside as our main supplier for cleaning products. Most Flexo and Parkside products are environmentally friendly.

They are as follows:

• General Purpose Cleaner
• Glass Cleaner
• Neutral Detergent (for floors)
• Lemon Quat
• Carpet Detergent and Pre-Sprays
• Instant Deodorizers (enzyme-based)

Floor care products are from Flexo Products:

• Johnson Signature
• Ultra Lift-Off (floor stripper)

Paper Products are generally from Bay West and are from not less that 50% re-cycled product. We also use Skysoft and Ecosoft which are 100% recycled.

Environmental Standards - Energy Conservation

It will be part of our cleaner's daily routine to turn-off all lighting after cleaning their areas, check that all water supplies are shut-off and report any faulty plumbing and electrical or any other safety hazards. We will also request that our cleaning staff not use excessive amounts of hot water.

Environmental Protection

We will, as a responsible consumer, continually look at, and test for more environmentally friendly products.

All products are used and disposed of as directed by the manufacturer and are handled in an environmentally friendly manner. All staff will be trained in proper use and dilution of cleaning products to reduce waste.

Garbage bags and can liners will be of high-density construction to minimize the amount of plastic entering the environment.

Recycling Programs

Commercial Cleaning Services has been deeply involved with recycling programs since their inception. We work closely with building management to ensure that our part of the services supports the efforts of the client. In an audit of one program where our Day Porters were responsible for maintaining separation of the waste streams, the results illustrated that over 80% of recyclable material was actually being diverted from landfill.

Recycling is mandatory in the Hamilton-Niagara region, and as such, COMMERCIAL CLEANING SERVICES Supervisors normally pick up the empty cleaning material packaging and return it to our warehouse on Cushman Road in St. Catharines. For large sites that have recycling available (ie: Provincial Government Buildings), COMMERCIAL CLEANING SERVICES utilizes the recycling program at these sites.

Regardless of the methodology, COMMERCIAL CLEANING SERVICES recycles empty cleaning material containers at all of it's contract sites.
